The Pig and Tinder Box was one of the first pubs in the New England Region, setting up shop in 1848.
Fast-forward 170 years and the “The Pig” is back in the form of a boutique bar meets classic pub. – the brainchild of Chris Cornforth and Fraser Haughton (who brought Orange, NSW its first small bar “Percy’s Bar and Kitchen”).
The old bank building in the heart of town has been revamped, creating life, character and a sense of action and atmosphere that the beautiful heritage-listed building deserves.
Providing a fresh take on casual drinking and dining, ‘The Pig’ offers craft beers, a gallery of delicious cocktails, fine whiskys and a wine list celebrating some of Australia’s and the world’s finest growing regions.
These are paired with quirky share plates, a generous selection of traditional wood-fired pizzas, and not to mention some re-invented pub classics and other treats from the wood-fired oven. The creations showcases the best of the region’s produce and are all prepared by local Head Chef John Maslen.
